Mamma Corsica Restaurant

A nice little Corsican restaurant in the heart of Avignon. A warm welcome on a festival lunchtime. Prices a bit high, but good food.

⭐☆☆☆☆ An extremely disappointing experience. We were expecting to discover authentic Corsican cuisine, but it was quite the opposite. Upon arrival, we noticed that the bottles of red wine were simply stored on a shelf at room temperature. As a result, the €40 bottle we ordered was served far too warm… and, to add insult to injury, placed in a champagne bucket. The sheer absurdity of it is almost laughable. The children's menu was equally disappointing: a so-called Corsican charcuterie platter consisting of a single slice of three different types of charcuterie, which didn't even seem to be Corsican, accompanied by two potatoes. This is unacceptable for a restaurant that claims to showcase Corsican gastronomy. The dishes were bland, tasteless, and lacked authenticity. Everything seemed to be made from industrial or frozen products, with no effort put into the cooking. Another detail that leaves a bad impression: the order slips are magnetized directly to the refrigerator, where boxes of wine that are clearly not Corsican are stored. This reinforces the feeling that the establishment prioritizes image over the quality and authenticity of its products. Ultimately, the value for money is disastrous. High prices for very mediocre quality, haphazard service, and cuisine that does absolutely nothing to honor Corsican flavors. A huge disappointment. I do not recommend this establishment.

Excellent Corsican cuisine, attentive staff, highly recommended!

A wonderful discovery during the Avignon Festival. Delicious food, served quickly between shows. And the owner was so kind, saving us a table for two.

Good atmosphere and food (water downed wine ?!? Avoid pichet all the same), usually quite busy yet staff does its very best!
